A message from Brockville, Ontario, says that 25 to 30 lives are believed to havo been U t on Thursday afternoon when lightning struck the drillboat I. B. King; carrying dynamite and' working in the Brockville Narrows of the St. Lawrence River, two miles west of Brockville. Many of the crew were asleep in their bunks. The boat was blown to kindling wood. A number of survivors were picked up not seriously injured and a search is proceeding for the bodies of others who were on the boat. At St. Johns, Newfoundland, three lives were lost and thirty boats sunk and heavy damage dune to property by thunder, lightning and hail, iu a storm in the Lumsuen district.
