MOTOR-CAR OVER BANK.
FATALITY NEAR GISBORNE. EXONERATION OF DRIVER. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] 1 GISBOEXE. Friday. The death of James Brown, aged 23, ■ of .Auckland, who was fatally injured on June 18 when a car went over a bank and landed 70ft. below, was inquired into by the acting-coroner and a jury of four. The accident occurred on a dangerous point on the Puha-TYhatatutu Koad known as the Otara Bend, 26 miles from Gisborne. A verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attachable to the driver of the car, Trevor Charles Tong. In a rider the jury recommended that the local authority responsible for the road should see that it was properly bankccl and graded and that a suitable post,and rail fence was erected on the lower side.
