PISTOL IN COLLECTION.
QUESTION OF REGISTRATION. PROSECUTION DISMISSED. [ht telegraph.—own correspondent.] HUNTLY, Friday. In the Huntly Magistrate's Court today before Mr. F. H. Lovien, S.M., Mrs. E. L. Fraser, of Huntly (Mr. K. S. Cauldwell), was charged with being in possession'of a firearm,' an automatic pistol, for a period of longer than seven days without being registered as the owner.
Counsal cxplainod that Mrs. Fraser had been a war worker for a number of years and during that tiino had been tho recipient of many valuablo souvenirs. Tho revolver in question was given her in 1920 by » returned soldier• nnd had been kept among a collection which eventually was to go to tho War Memorial Museum in Auckland.
A photograph of tho collection was produced and hatidod to the magistrate who, after viewing it, commented on the unusual circumstances and dismissed the case. ■ . .
