REPORT BY GEOLOGISTS.

MASS MOVED TOWARD GORGE. :UNFORESEEN OCCURRENCE. EXCAVATION AND PRESSURE.

The trouble which has arisen at Arapuni was the chief topic when Parliament opened yesterday, and a statement dealing with the question was made in the House of Representatives by the Minister of Public Works, Hon. W. B. Taverner. The number of questions which followed denoted the keen interest taken in tho situation by members. The Minister read, a summary of the report by the geologists who had just completed an investigation on the site, in which they described the nature of the earth movement, and expressed their opinion as to its causes. Mr. Taverner also stated that the Government was arranging for a special report by an expert engineer from overseas. In the meantime, further work at Arapuni would be suspended.
