tTO-DAY'S WEATHER. | HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. Vincent last evening:— Mainly fair to fitio weather is indicated, but still unsettled at times ill western districts, with occasional showers. Southerly to south-westerly winds, moderato to strong j fairly rough seas on the west coast. Local outlook: Chiefly fair to fine, but an occasional shower is likely. Moderato temperatures. Barometer, midnight, rising Midnight, Wednesday . .. 30.201n. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Govommcnt moteorologist reported last evening as follows: —Yesterday's depression is being followed by a secondary. To-day a rather intense ant.i-cyclono covers the Tasman Sea. Indications are for a temporary southerly change, which is likely to rnovo up tho east coast tonight (Thursday); otherwise moderato to strong winds, between west and south, are probable, reaching galo force at first in Foveaux Strait, but moderating generally later. Seas rough south of Capo Egmont and Castlopoint, but decreasing gradually, and elsewhero moderate. Moderate' to fresh south-westerlies and moderate to rather rough seas m tho eastern Tasman Sea, but winds and seas decreasing. Weather still rather unsettled, with scattered showers mainly in the far south. Improving to-morrow (Friday). Cold temperatures, with many frosts.
