DAIRY CONFERENCE.
MORE REMITS DISCUSSED. RE-ELECTION OF PRESIDENT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. The annual conference of the National Dairy Association was continued to-day. The remaining remits were disposed of early this morning and the rest of the day was devoted to the discussion of problems relating to cheese production. The conference passed a remit from the Awahuri Company,, stated to bo largely the outcome of a conference at Palmerston North, that the Government should be asked to remove the duties on all grains and concentrated foods required for stock and thus enable New Zealand farmers to obtain them at the world's competitive prices. Another remit was passed urging upon all associated with the industry the necessity of buying goods of English manufacture whenever possible in preference to goods of American, Australian or Canadian production. Mr. A. Morton was re-elected president of the association for the 20th successive time.
It was decided to hold the next conference at New Plymouth.
