Hockly and* Mr- Frank Grove, who ara jto be married shortly. Miss Corlett re- ! ceired the guests wearing a frock of ! cherry satin beanie, Miss Hockly wore | floral ring velvet, and Mrs. Grove was in I black georgette. The room was very atj tractively decorated with antenna leaves j and jonquils. 1 Flag bridge was played, the prizes ' beinc wen by Miss Stanton, Miss Ik>oth | and Miss Hawkesworth. The consolation j pr:zes went to Miss Hockly, Mrs. Grove ' and Mrs. Wilkic. At the close of the : evening Mr. F. Grove, on behalf of Miss i Hockly and himself, thanked Miss Corlett I and all present for the delightful evening, and for the numerous useful gifts i which had been presented to them, j Anions: those who were present were i Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Bunyard, Mrs. Gcudie. Mrs George, Mrs- Wiikie, Mrs. Wallis, Miss Hall, Miss Allen, Miss Guna, Miss McPberson, Miss Searell. Miss Snodgrass, Miss Stanton, Miss J. Pearce, Miss J. Giesen, Miss McKenzie, Miss Booth, Mrs. Booth, Miss Hawkesworth, Miss P. St Clair, Messrs. B-ees-Gecrge, Hall, George, Russell, Webb, Obscrne and Kirk. A literary circle in connection '.nth the RiOtorua Women's Club has been formed recently. Afternoons are held fortnightly at the "members' houses, at which modern plays are read and discussed.
