OBITUARY.

MR. W. D. LYSAGHT. Tho death occurred yesterday morning of Mr. William Denis Lysaght at his residence. Park Crescent, Parnell, at the ago of 54. As claims superintendent for the Auckland Transport Board ho was widely known and respected in the city and was a popular officer in tho tramways undertaking, which he served for 35 years. Ho was tho eldest son of tho late Mr. Patrick Lysaght, of Heme Bay, and was born in Auckland in 1876. As a young man he took a keen interest in athletics, particularly football and yachting. lie joined the Auckland Tramway Company 35 years ago and remained in the service when it was takon over by tho City Council and subsequently by tho Transport Board. Mr. Lysaght is survived by his widow. There are no children. The interment will take place at Hillsborough Cemetery this afternoon. MR. JOHN McILRAITH. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Tho death occurred this morning of Mr. John Mcllraith, provision merchant, of Willis Streot, a. well-known resident of Wellington. He was in his usual health until'yesterday. Mr. Mcllraith, who was in his 69th year, came from Scotland with his parents when he was 16 years of ago. The family first settled in Canterbury and from there went to Denniston, West Coast. They came to Wellington in 1897.

MR. T. G. GILBERT. [ny TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Mr.. T. G. Gilbert, of the Agricultural Department, Wellington, who was widely known throughout tho public service. Mr. Gilbert, who was born in Kaiapoi and educated at. tho Otago Boys' High School, joined tho servico in 1896 as a cadet in tho Education Department. Ho rose to tho position of accountant, from which ho was promoted to that of district public trustee at Mastorton. From there ho was transferred to the head oflice of tho Publio Trust at Wellington. He was later appointed accountant in the Agricultural Department and occupied that position at the time of his death.
