NEWTON SCHOOLS.
MONEY FOR COCOA FUND. A concert held in the Grey Lynn Library by Carlson's Cosmopolitan Entertainment Company produced about £9 for the ??<jwton Schools' cocoa fund. In furtherance of the project, two benefit picture entertainments will bo given by the management of the Prince Edward Theatre on July 2 and July 3. The committee hopes soon to be in a position to provide hot cocoa daily during the winter month* for the pupils of both tho Newton schools. The Newton Schools Committee decided at its last meeting to approach the. Minister of Health with a v.'ew to having a culvert put through the Newton Central School grounds. At present a gully, in which flood water accumulates, makes matters very, gnsatisfactory.
