AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD

PENDING LOAN REDEMPTION. HOBSON BAY BOATSHED SITES. The Auckland Harbour Board decided vesterda" that the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board should be sought for the raising of a loan of £155.000 which, with the accumulated sinking fund. £35.000, would redeem the second and third issues of the 1908 loan maturing on January 10, 1531. With regard to boatshed sites in Whakatakataka. Bay, a number of applications for which were received, the harbourmaster recommended that sites for private sheds should be grouped on the south side of No. 2 bridge in Hobson Bay and abreast of Hobson Point, and those for business purposes on the west side of No. 2 bridge and alongside the waterfront roadway. The matter was referred to the board in committee. The Awhitu Ratepayers' Association wrote asking that a property owner adjoining Graham's Beach should be restrained from removing Kind from the beach alongside the wharf, as it was contended that the wharf approach and private properties were being endangered. The board decided to obtain a report from the Manukau harbourmaster.
