SUCCESS AT WHANG ARE!. UNION REAPS BENEFIT. [BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] "WHANGAEEI, Mor.daT. The Whangarei Rugby Union's queen | carnival was concluded on Saturday evening. The winner was Miss O'Shea, Maungakaramea, who secured 9619 votes. Miss Dot Brown, City, 4579 votes, was second, and Miss J. Whitman, Old Boys, was third with 4150 votes. As a result of the carnival the union will be able to meet the levy for the North Auckland touring team, and will have a surplus after allocating 15 per cent, of the gross takings to the clubs l concerned. ——_
