MILK FOR CHILDREN.
SCHOOLS AT WELLINGTON. BOARD APPROVES SCHEME. [HY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A proposal has been made to the Wellington Education Board by tho City Milk Department to provide every school child with half a pint of milk every day at a cost, with a biscuit, of ono penny. Tho idea is to divert part of the surplus milk supply to the schools, as is done in some parts of Britain. The Milk Department undertook to .mako no profit out of tho scheme, and the board approved tho proposal. A circular will be forwarded to parents explaining tho proposal and inquiries will be made of country schools to see if they can introduce a similar cchome.
