A strong protest was made at tho anfeual meeting of tho Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association against somo recent ,war books. A resolution was passed affirming "that they are wholly false as portraying the spirit of war and in our opinion substantially false in detailing the facts." The association carried a motion strongly supporting the defence system and protesting against any undue reduction in the Defence vote. Some members objected that the subject trenched on politics, but they : were over-ruled.
