OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.
HOUSE BURNED DOWN.

Early last evening a six-roomed house in Thames Road, owned by Mrs. A. L. Fisher, of Netherton, and occupied by Mrs. "VV. Greaves and family, was destroyed by a fire which originated in the kitchen. The Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade was quickly on the scene, but was unable to assist, owing to the lack of a water supply in the isolated locality. The house was insured for £650 in the State Fire Office. The furniture and contents, which Were valued at £3OO, were not insured.
DWELLING AT HAMILTON.
SEVERE DAMAGE RESULTS.

An unoccupied five-roomed house in Cook Street, Hamilton East, owned by Mrs. Ludwig, of Auckland, was severely damaged by fire early this morning. The flames had a strong hold when the brigade arrived, but the firemen were able to save the front part of the building. The back rooms were extensively damaged, but those in the front escaped with slight damage from heat and smoke.
The house, which contained no furniture, was insured for £SOO in the London and Lancashire Office.
DAMAGE TO MOTOR-CYOLE.
SEQUEL TO BACK-FIRE,

A motor-cycle and side-car were extensively damaged by fire.-in a yard at the rear of the shop of A. 0. Rice, Limited, in Victoria Street, shortly before five o'clock this afternoon. The firo resulted from the engine backfiring, and was soon suppressed by the brigade. The machine, which was undergoing repair, is owned by Mr. Chester. It was insured for £IOO.
AWAKENED BY DOG.
FATHER RESCUES CHILD.

A five-roomed house owned and occupied by Mr W. D. Plunkett was destroyed, with its contents, by fire, which broke out early this morning. Mr. Plunkett was awakened by a neighbour's dog barking. The house was then blazing, and he had difficulty in rescuing a child from a back room.
The house was insured for £SOO in the New Zealand Office, but the furniture was not insured
SHOP AT BLENHEIM.
CONFECTIONERY STOCK RUINED

Tho confectionery promises occupied by Messrs. Croker and Mills were damaged by fire this morning. Tho cause of the outbreak is not known. It started in a small storeroom in the middle of tho building. Tho brigado confined tho greater pan of the damage to this portion, though practically all tho stock was ruined by heat, smoko and water. Tho contents were insured for about £IOO in the North British and Mercantile Offices. The premises, which are owned by the Murray Estate, are insured for £llOO in tho Sun Office.
