HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.
NEW WHAU CREEK BRIDGE.
The Henderson Town Board received a suggestion at its meeting this week, from the Municipal Association that, in order to facilitate the examination of motor drivers' licences by traffic inspectors, licences for all districts should bo of a uniform colour, the same as that of the number-plates. The proposal was favourably received.
The Auckland Transport Board advised that a meeting would bo held next Tuesday to consider the question of bus services to outlying districts. It was arranged for several members to attend tho meeting.
The chairman and town clerk wore appointed delegates to an inquiry with regard to the proposed now bridge over tho Whau Creek.
The traffic inspector's report indicated that 200 licences for motor vehicles had been issued.
The foreman reported that the new fire station and workshop had been completed. The Valley and Great North Roads had been repaired and mado reasonably safe for traffic. The bitumen joints on the concrete road wero being attended to. The work had been delayed owing to tho wot weather, but had been completed from tho southern boundary to McLeod's Road.
