CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Tho Onehunga-Manukau Chamber of Commerce mot last evening, tho president, Mr. Kirk Jones, presiding. Tho committee set up at the last meeting, when Mr. J. Park gave tin address on the Manukau as- a suitable industrial area,'was authorised to obtain information on tho availablo sites, and then hold a conforcnco with the Manufacturers' Association and the various local bodies concerned.

Tho president reported on the duplication of tho tram lines now in progress. Ho and the Mayor, Mr. E. Morion, had prevailed upon the Transport Board to continue the duplication to within a few chains of tho terminus, near the old kiosk.

Opposition to an increase in tho petrol tax was expressed. Tho meeting decided to ask the Minister ot Public Works to obtain the best engineering advice regarding Arapuni that could bo obtained abroad.
