YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH
Auckland.—Tho weather was showery yesterday morning, but fine in the afternoon and evening. The wind was moderate from the south-west. 'I he barometer rose after mid-day, and was steady at 30.25 in. last night.
Wellington. —Yesterday the weather was bright and sunny, with a light southerly breeze.
Christchurch.—After a gale and rain during the night, the morning broke with eleven degrees of frost. The day was perfect, the sun shining from a cloudless sky with a light air from the south • ■•sL Tho maximum temperature was 43 degrees. The barometer was steady at 30.05 in. Last night was clear, calm and bitterly cold.
Dunedin.—The weather yesterday was fino and cold with more sunshine than cloud. The wind was light from the south-west, and the ma.\irnuni temperature 49 degrees The barometer, which fell on Monday, showed a rising tendency yesterday, but was steady in the evening at 29.95 in.
