Tho Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, recently let it be known that he was wearing clothes made from materials produced and mado in New Zealand, as was Lady Bledisloe. The president of tho New Zealand Manufacturers' Association to-day said there already were signs of a substantial turnover in local woollen goods, and increasing inquiries for locally mado accompaniments of such articles of wear and use. The manufacturers had good ground for hoping that, tho step taken by Their Excellencies would not only immediately stimulate the inquiry for locally mado goods, but also would increase the demand for New Zealand productions abroad.
