MARKETING FRUIT.

INQUIRY BY COMMITTEE.

DEPUTATION TO MINISTER.

A request that tho committee of inquiry, set up to report upon tho marketing of fruit should hear evidence in Auckland, was made to tho Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. P. A. do la Perreilo, yesterday by-a deputation from the Auckland Retail Fruitgrowers' Association. The deputation, which consisted of tho president, Mr. W. G. Shearer, Mr. B. Bunn, Mr. C. Ah Clieo and tho secretary, Mr. H. G. Stalcy, suggested that if the committee sat only in Wellington railway facilities should bo provided for Auckland delegates to attend. Tho deputation also expressed the view that the committee should not consist entirely of Parliamentary representatives. The Minister assured the deputation that full consideration would be given to its requost and facilities would bo granted if possible.
