SALE OF SUBDIVISION.
SUM OF £24,600 REALISED. LAND NEAR PALMERSTON NORTH. [ill' TELEGRAPH. —PHESS ASSOCIATION. ] PALMERSTON NORTH, Friday. An important subdivision?! land sale was held yesterday, when 11 sections, realising a total of £24,601 15s, with an aggregate acreage of 591 acres in tho Opotiki block, owned by Mr. Hugh Alters, wero sold. The land is rich, friable Manawatu River deposit., 13 miles from Palmerston North and four miles from Rangiotu and Tokomaru stations. Twenty lots, varying from 36 to 102 acres were offered and ll wero sold, the prices ranging from £4O to £54 an acre. Tho land has heavy carrying capacity, both for sheep and cattle, as it has been farmed and grazea for 40 years. It, was one of the four largo holdings left in tho district for close settlement.
