In view of t!io recent pronouncement I>y the Prime ZMinistct* emphasising tlio necessity for national economy, tlio Palmerslon North Borough Council this evening expressed concern ;il tlio proposed capital expenditure of £30,000 on the part of the Palmerston North Hospital Board, which proposes to undertake ai) extensive building programme in tlio near future.

After discussion the council decided to write to tho Government asking whether this expenditure could not bo postponed for a year or two, in view of tho need for general economy.
