COMPARISON OF RETURNS.
The opinion that a fair comparison could not he made between tho Dunedin Poppy Day return of 112620 and the Auckland total of £2llO, was expressed by Mr. K. 11. Sharp, secretary of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association, yesterday. Mr. Sharp raid the southern total usually included sums which were not really Poppy I lay sales for the one centre. Tho Dunedin total of £2237 last year included sums raised by the Taieri and Central Otago farmers, and also a grant of £250 from tho Otago Patriotic Society. Tho Auckland total of £2llO was comprised of donations and the proceeds of sales ill Auckland itself, and did not include the proceeds from country districts, which had separate Poppy Day organisations. \\ lieu (his fact was taken into consideration, J\lr. Sharp said ho considered that the local figures, which arc n rocord for 'lio centre, wero very satisfactory.
