NAVY V. NOMADS. 1 Another good match was played 'at the Jteinucra Hockey Grounds yesterday afternoon between teams reprcHcnting tlio Navy and' an Auckland team called tlid 'Nomads, tho. latter team winning by. 5 goals to 1, Thcro was a fair attendance of spectators who thoroughly enjoyed the ■ -fabt,- • open game. .
Just as play light rain began to fall but was notj sufficient to sdoil ' the movements of .Nomads' forwavds, wtio combined from tho opening bully. However, Commander Jeffreys, at fullback, was on his game, and, broke up attack ; a£ter attack. His clearances to forwards were all well placed, but tho Navy forwards wero unable to take any advantage that was made. It was well on in tho first half before Johnson broke through and after a nice eo!o run scored the first goal. Nomads wero still on tho attack and a good shot by Colo was well saved by Nixon, the Navy goalkeeper, who was, however, unable to clear the ball beforo Scccombe had pushed it in tho not v making tho half-time scorerNomads, 2; Navy, 0.
The second half' commenced with tlio Navy forwards attacking hut they lacked finishine qualities aud wero unable to score. Nomads' forwards broke away, and after some pretty passing Colo received tho ball in tho circle and made no mistake. Shortly after tho bully, from open play. Colo again registered a nice 1 goal. At last a Navy forward movement was rewarded by Lieutenant Currie rcoring. Near tho closo of the game H. Watts-received tho ball, beat the fullback, and found the net with a .good angle shot. Play continued up and down the field at n fast pace until time was called with the final ecoro:—Nomads, 5; Navy. 1. Alessrs.' A. B. Candy and 1 ( . Nicholson were tho referees.

In the Inncs Cup competition, Country defeated United by 8 goals to 1, and ltovers beat True Blues by 5 Koala to I. [n the Harris Cup matches for Indies. High School and Gold Diggers drew, thero being no score, and Triers defeated Aretas by 1 goal to 0.
