Preparations aro well advanced for the opening of the Waikato Winter Show on Tuesday.

Most of -the butter and cheese exhibits arc ready,. and lyrgo-staff of Goyernnient, graders la employed in the judging. The quality, of Urn produce, is stated to be of high standard. Over 1000 entries have been received, and tho judging will bo continued until Monday.

It' was anticipated that owing to tho peculiarities of (lie season, thcra would be a falling off in the root exhibits, but this section has actually shown a gteatei increase than any other division, tho entries being 098 as against 6/6 for last year's show. A massed choir has been in training for some months rehearsing : for tho opening ceremony, at, which a special • song will be tiling: An orchestra., has been "engaged and each afternoon and evening a programme of musical items will be contributed,. as well as dancing and vocal numbers. '■ Tho show-will bo open daily, Sunday excepted,, for seven days until June 3.
