INFANT WELFARE.
LADY BLEDISLOE'S INTEREST. VISIT TO INSTITUTIONS. A visit to the Plui'ket rooms in Synionds Street, and later to the Ivaritane Homo in Mounts Albert, ivas paid by Her Excellency. f-udy Bledisloe yesterday afternoon. On arrival at the Plimket rooms Her Excellency, who was accompanied by Mrs. A. T. Bathurst, was received by Lady Sinclair Lockhart, vice-president of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society, in the absence of the president, Mrs. W. IT. Parkes, who is indisposed, bv Sister Gonlslone, matron in charge of the district wouk, Miss Eileen Partridge, secretary of the Plunket Society, and Miss Statham, assistant-secretary. A guard of honour was formed both at the Plunket rooms and at tho Ivaritane Hospital, by
the nurses, to each of whom Lady Uledisloe was personally introduced. At the former rooms she was presented, on behalf of Mrs. I'arkes, with a beautiful bouquet of cyckjincn and orchids. Keen interest in the activities of both institutions was shown by Ifer Excellency, who was photographed at I lie Karitane Home ■with one of the babies. Afternoon tea was also dispensed there by Matron McLean and the nurses. Among the members of the committee who were present were:—Mrs. R. S.
