THE VICTORIA LEAGUE.
TRIBUTE TO MISS MOWBRAY.
In replying to the welcome extended to Their Excellencies at the Empire hall last evening, by the president of tho Victoria League, Miss Mowbray, Lord Bledisloo spoke of his great interest in the work of the. league and of his connection with it as president of one of the branches in England. " Tho Victoria League," lie said, " was a great link of Empire and had strenuously worked in its interests." It believed in the development of Imperialism and worked in a spirit that showed not only words, but doeds. I,n Miss Mowbray the league in Auckland had a president who was an enthusiast and an Imperialist, and he was greatly interested in the work she had done. His Excellency congiatulated the league on its strength and hoped it would develop in numbers and enthusiasm.
