CONTROL OF YACHTING.

INTERPROVINCIAL CONTESTS. DOMINION BODY SUCGESTED. The question of tho formation of a 1 Dominion body to control and govern all intcrprovincial yachting and motor-boat-ing contests was discussed by the Auckland Yacht and Motor-boat Association last evening. The proposal was advocated by the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motorboat Association, which suggested that not only should tho Sanders and Cornwell Cups bo controlled by tho new association, but also all other important fixtures. The body should consist o£ delegates representing the various associations, and its headquarters should bo in Wellington.

The chairman, Mr C. 11. T. Palmer, pointed out that at the last Dominion conference, hefrl in Auckland, it was decided to ask the Auckland Association to devise some scheme with tho object of forming a Dominion association. lie could not why the Wellington Association was now so anxious to put forward its proposal. Auckland owned practically all tlio most important cups, and before the association could go into the matter the clubs concerned would have to Imj consulted, it was indeed a very big and important, question, and far-reaching, especially as iar as Auckland was concerned. Ho suggested that a committee should be appointed to go into the proposal and submit it to the association. The matter colild then lie discussed and referred hi the various clubs, and after it, bad boon again dealt with by the Auckland Association, a reply could be forwarded to. the Wellington Association
