HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.
Tho following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.in. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. jr. Vincent last evening:— A moderate westerly disturbance is crossing tho Dominion, tho depression temporarily impeding tho liigh barometric pressure system which is advancing from the west. Expect cloudy and unsettled weather generally, with rain in most districts, but especially in southern and western areas, with thunder probable in llioso places. Southerly to south-westerly winds, moderato to strong, somewhat squally at times. Fairly rough seas on tho west coast, particularly southward from New Plymouth; chiefly moderate seas elsewhere. Local outlook: Mainly fair to fine, but unsettled at times, with occasional showers. Cold night temporatures. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.101 n. Alidnight, Atonday .. r.-., 30.10 in, GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A series of slight low-pressure waves continues to cross the southern portion of the Dominion. An anti-cyclone still covers south-eastern Australia. Pressure lias fallen to tho east of Now Zealand. Indications are for moderate to strong winds, between south and west. Seas rough south of Capo Egmont and offshore south of Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate. West to south winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, moderato in tho northern portion, with moderato seas. Strong in tho southern portion, with rough seas. Weather cool and changeable, with scattered showers, more especially in western and southern districts. RAINFALL RECORD.
