BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS. 'J'lu; To Awamutu Girl Guides colebraLed (heir fourtli' birthday with a tea party and concert, at which they entertained as special guests (lie Brownie Pack, which also celebrated its second birthday. Among (ho other guests were:— Airs. 'J.ootiihs, the divisional commissioner, from Hamilton; Hiss Osrncrs, divisional secretary: and Mrs. W. J. Broadfoot, of Te Kuiti. These guests brought birthday greetings and good wishes from their respective companies. Mrs. Toombs [(resented several service stars, including (hose for four years' association, lo Lieutenants ;\. Clifford and M. Ross. Later iii (he evening Major Sandford, Boy Scouts commissioner of training, and the local company of scouts, under Scoutmaster Braves, arrived and were accorded a hearty and appropriate welcome. Several presentations were made, including special gifts to Brown Owls K. Wallace and L. Bray, both of whom are, to bu married shortly.
