SINGAPORE BASE.
NEW ZEALAND'S ATTITUDE. NO CHANCE IN POLICY. EARLY DECISION OPPOSED. [I'.Y TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER.] ROTORUA, Wednesday. "I have noticed that frequent references have recently been appearing in the newspapers regarding tho Singapore naval base," said the Primo Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, in a statement, this evening. " I desire to state that as far as the New Zealand Government is concerned its views on the subject are well known and have been publicly stated both in and out of Parliament. Moreover, His Majesty's Government in tho United Kingdom is fully cognisant of these views. " I need hardly say that these opinions remain unchanged, and we hopo that no decision affecting the construction of tho work at Singapore will be made until tho matter has been fully considered at tho forthcoming Imperial Conference in London.
