HEAD SERIOUSLY INJURED,
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Monday.
Serious injuries to the head were suffered by Mr. Ronald Scott, a carpenter, aged 22, the son of Mr. W. W. Scott, of Hamilton, in Tainni Street, Hamilton, this' afternoon. He was trying out a motor-cycle and side-car and had with him in the side-car Mr. Frederick Pickup, a young motor mechanic. As Mr. Scott was coasting down a fairly steep grade in Tainui Street he lost •control of the machine, which jumped a 3ft. bank and struck an electric light pole. The driver was thrown out and probably struck the pole with his head, for the left side of his skull was fractured. His condition last evening was regarded as critical. His cofnpaniL'ii was thrown clear on to the grass, and suffered no injury. The machine was only slightly damaged.
