BUS STRIKES VERANDAH.

ACCIDENT AT FRANKTON

[Br TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Sunday. Tho verandah of the grocer's shop of Mr. E. A. Fitzgerfild, at the corner of Norton Road and Rostrcvor Street, Frankton-, was partially wrecked by a passing bus shortly before eight a'clock last evening.

The bus, Owned by Buses, Ltd., had stopped near the shop to pick up a number of passengers, and in moving off it failed to clear tho corner verandah post, which was knocked down. Tho verandah sagged down in the middle until it touched the pavement, but the end supports held.

The bus, which was crowded at the time, escaped damage. The owner of. the shop is Mr. L. Hickey, butcher, of Frankton.
