MEMBER OF SENATE ANGRY.

WASHINGTON, May 9.

The general superintendent of tho AntiSaloon League of America, Dr. F. S. Mcßride gave evidence to day before tho committee of the Senato which is 'investigating tho working of tho prohibition law. 110 said: "The league was born of God and will fight on while He leads." Those things which were in the way of the progress of the kingdom of God must get out of the way.

Mr. J. J. Blaine, Republican member of tho Senato for Wisconsin, a membor of the committee, angrily rejoined: "I do not believe God would approve of some of your practices. I think your statement is sacrilegious and outrageous."
