WOMAN FALLS OFF TRAIN.

An unknown woman had a narrow escape from death at ralmerston North railway station yesterday afternoon* There was an unusual rush by passengers to board the New Plyri.outh express and in the confusion a woman passenger missed her footing as she was climbing into a carriage. She fell between the edge of the platform and tliQ moving wheels.
Two young men, with great presence of mind, rushed forward and by strenuous efforts managed to drag her from her perilous position. Their timely action saved her lift;, as-just as sho was pulled out of d inger a projecting, end of « carriage swept by. Had she been s.truck she would probably have boon liaii )d under the train.
Apparently the woman was cone 138 worse for her trying ordeal except io»; severe shock.
