STRUCK BY SERVICE CAR.

BUS DRIVERS INJURED.

MISHAP NEAR WIRI,

Two motor-bus drivers were struck and knocked down by a service car on the Great South Road, near Wiri, about four o'clock on Saturday afternoon as they were crossing the road to chango vehicles. Both men, Mr, Francis Crimmins and Mr. 0. Sorenson, were employed by the Waihi-Paeroa 'Transport Company, Limited, and live at Waikino, near YVaihi.

The injured men had stopped their vehicles on either side of the road and were about to make the change when the service car, Which was driven by Mr. Arthur Smith, and was travelling south, struck them. Mr. Sorenson received a severe scalp wound, while Mr. Crimrnina received concussion of the brain. After attention from a St. John Ambulance nurse and Dr. A. R Jameson, of Papatoetoe, they were brought to the city by motor-car and taken to tlie Auckland Hospital. Mr. Criiutuins was admitted, but Mr. Sorenson was ablo to leave after treatment.
