OPENING MEET HELD.

Tho opening meet of the Cambridge branch of UmWaikato Hunt was held at Wyatt's Corner. - Pencourt, and was one of tho largest meets >ver held in the Waikuto. A fino autumn day saw a very representative attendance of hunting enthusiasts from all parts of South Auckland, the field comprising over 200 riders.
Although tho scent was not good, ",ho liounds) were in great fettle, several good runs being experienced, with one kill. Afterwards tho large assemblage wus entertained at Mr. Wynn Brown's residence. Mr. H. Crowthcr referred to the great services to hunting given by the master and by Miss Wynn Brown The master thanked tho farmers for tho use of their country. Tho annual meeting of the hunt was held nt the week-end, Mr. Wynn Brown presiding over about 50 members. Tho report showed (hat tho year had been successful from r.ll viewpoints. The balance-sheet showed that tho general account commenced with, a credit, balance of A'S-Hi, and closed with a credit of £SST.
Mr. Norman Banks was re-elected treasurer and Mr. N. G. Sutherland re-elected auditor. There wan no election for tho committee. Air. llarry Wyatt,-of Hinueira, was made a life member. Twelve now members were elected.
