ART EXHIBITION.
SELECTION OF PICTURES*
OVER 300 ENTRIES RECEIVED.
Over 300 pictures were entered for tha annual exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts, entries for which closed at noon on Saturday. A meeting of the hanging committee was held, and about 250 of th« pictures were selected for display at t.h# exhibition, which will open on May 23. The number of entries is not as great as last year, when over 450 were received,, but the pictures are stated to ba of a high standard. Auckland artists contributed 193 of the exhibits, while 120 came from other parts of New Zealand.
