SUGAR PRICES LOWER.

ANOTHER REDUCTION MADE. DECREASE OF 10a A TON. A further reduction of 10s a ton in the wholesale price of all grades of raw and refined sugar, including tablet and icing sugar, is announced by the Colonial Sugar Refining Company. The new rates, which will take effect to-day, are £lB 10s a ton for No. 1A sugar, the popular table grade, £23 10s a ton for tablet sugar in 561b containers, and £2B 10s in 21b cartons, and £22 10s a ton for icing sugar. Compared with the price ruling at the end of 1914, the new rate for No. 1A sugar represents a decrease of nearly 9 per cent., while it is over 61 per cent, lower than the peak price of £47 10s, which obtained in July, 1920. The last reduction was made on April 22, when the price was lowered to £l9 a ton.
