RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB. Tho Auckland City Defence Riflo Club fired tho third round in tho service championship under ideal conditions last Saturday. The practices were five rounds application at 200 yds, six rounds at a moving figure with invisible G and 12in. rings at 200 yds, seven rounds rapid in 25 seconds at 300 yds, seven rounds at the snap shooting disc at the same distance. C. Peat shot very solidly nnd won the handicap spoon very easily, P. J. Pring winning tho epoon for tho best performance oil tho riflo C. J. M. Clark registered a fino effort in scoring 32 out of 35 in the rapid practice, and is now leading for tho championship with R. C. Russell Pring and Peat within striking distance. With handicaps added the scores were:—C. Peat, 101; P. J. Pring. 93; C. Robinson, 93; A. G. Robertson, 93; M. 11. Russell, 91; C. J. M. Clark, 89; R. McLeay, 83; C. Dundas, 83; A. C. Watson, 81; S. Griffiths. 77; G. P. Binks, 72. Tho final ahoot will take place on Saturday. r AERO A SEASON CONCLUDES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAEROA, Monday. The concluding matches in tho Paeroa Defence Rifle Club's competitions were fired on Saturday, when some excellent scores were registered. The Wells trophy was von by R. I. Roberts, tho club championship by R. Wells, and tho handicap aggreguto by H. A. Morrison. The filial results were:— Wells Trophy.—R. I. Roberts, 132; 11. A. Morrison, 120; P. C. Hubbard, 128; R.
