FORBURY PARK EVENTS. TODD LORENZO'S WORK-OUT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. At Addington this morning A. Cos gave his two-year-old Todd Lorenzo his final workout previous to going to Dunedin on .his attempt to trot an exhibition mile in 2.20 or better. Those who had doubted the ability of the colt to accomplish the task are convinced now that with ordinary luck now figures will bo established. Todd Loronzo set off from the mile post accompanied by Brentlight (V. Alborn) as pacemaker, 'and from a comparatively slow moving start the young trotter settled down to his task in workmanlike style and without being unduly hurried he Carried on until a Quarter-of-a-mile from home, when ho increased the speed, doing tho last two furlongs in 31s and the last furlong in 105s. Tho track was in ' excellent order, but the performance in finy case"- was a particularly good one, for Todd Lorenzo waa not overtaxed in doing it. For the Prince of Wales Handicap, to be decided at Forbury Park oh Thursday, The Shrew is a warm first favourite, while for the Beach Handicap of one mile in saddlo Peter Daunt, Lady Antrim and El Direct are equally well fancied. Peter Daunt registered two very smart performances at- the Nelson meeting held at Greymouth in March, when he won both the saddlo races of 81 furlongs with ridiculous case, registering a mile rale of 2m 13 2-5s on tho second occasion. lie ia now set to do 2.17. El Direct has won over a mile in saddle at New Brighton in 2.11 1-5.
