TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.
Tho following weather forecast for 24 hoars from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. M. Vincent last evening:—Mainly fair to fine weather is indicated generally, but unsettled at times in the Far North and East Coast districts, with intermittent rain in those areas. The tropical disturbance is passing northward of New Zealand, while a very intense high barometric pressure system is approaching tho Dominion from the west. Easterly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, freshening at times in the northern districts. Rough seas on tho East Coast northward from East Capo; smooth to moderate seas elsowhere. Cold night temperatures. Local outlook: Fair to line, but an occasional shower is likely. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 30.20 in. Midnight, Sunday .. 30.15 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT. Tho Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —The anti-cyclone is now centred in tho south-west Tasman Sea, and is still intense. Indications are for southerly and south-easterly winds north of Westport and Kaikoura, southwesterly thenco southwards, light to moderate generally. Seas smooth to moderate generally. Light to moderate south-east-erly to southerly winds in tho eastern Tasman Sea, with smooth to moderate seas. The weather will still bo fair to fine generally, but there will bo some scattered showers in East Coast districts from Napier northwards. Cool temperatures, with many night frosts.
