TORNADO IN AMERICA.
MANY PERSONS KILLED. SEVERAL STATES SWEPT. (Received Mny 2, 7.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 1. A message from Omaha, Nebraska, says a series of tornadoes in sections of the States of Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska killed seven persons and injured scores of others and did extensive damage
to property. A message from Sioux City, lowa, says 18 persons were killed by the tornado. In the central western x States, including Minnesota and Missouri, many persons were made homeless and much farm property damaged. Sioux City has become the centre of relief efforts. Many emergency calls have been received from small communities, where the wind did the greatest damage.
