FUNCTION AT OPOTIKI.

[BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Saturday. A very large gathering assembled last evening at the Methodist Church to farewell the Rev. T. Skuse and Mrs. Sk;ise, who are leaving on Monday for Stratford. Mr. Skuse has been stationed for four years at Opotiki and has' been wonderfully successful in 'putting tho church into a good position. Speakers referred in eulogistic terms to tlie work done by Mr. and Mrs. Skuse and wished them equal success in their new sphere. Mrs. Skuse was presented with an antique vase and a silver vase and Mr. Skuse was presented with a well-fillcci wallet.
