DICKENS FELLOWSHIP.
A GROWING SOCIETY.
The fourth annual meeting of the Auckland Dickens Fellowship was held at "The Castle" (Wemmick's) on Thursday evening. The retiring president, "Rev. A. R. Chappell, presided over an attendance of nearly fifty. The executive officers' report referred to the marked success that attended last season's session, the expanding membership, deepening interest, and evidences of increasing activity being noted.
Jt was decided to add the immediate past president to the list of executive officers. The meeting madq appreciative reference to the sendees of the retiring president, who has occupied that position for tho first four ye,ars of the life of the society. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon; vice-presi-dents, Miss Stathani, Messrs. W. E. Arev, T. Clarkson, G. G. Grant, C. Kidsou and F. S. T. Little; secretary, Mrs. R. H. Culpan; treasurer, Mr. J. W* Kealy: committee, Mrs. W. R. H. Free, Miss Robinson Rev. A. B. Chappell, Messrs. Preston Chambers and W. S.Fisher; auditor, Mr. H. C. Robinson. Tho first ordinary meeting of the fifth session will be held on April 24 when a retiring address will be given by the past president, and tho incoming president will bo installed. A programme of illustrative readings will follow.
