LIPTON CUP CONTEST.
The Ponsonby Cruising Club will hold a series of harbour races this afternoon. Tho most important is tho annual contest for tho Lipton Cup for 22-footers. All events will start and finish off tho launch Linda moored off St. Mary's boat harbour. One representative from each club is invited aboard tho Linda, which will act as flagship. Tho officials in charge of the raco will bo Messrs. E. J. Kelly, E. Carson, G. Spencer and It. 11. Arthur. Following arc tho entries and handicaps : B, C and E Classes.—To start at 2.30 p.m.' Course: From starting lino between flagship and mark moored south, thence to Bastion oil port, thence to White Light on starboard, thenco to Bastion on starboard, finishing at starting line. Queenie, scr. ; Maybelle, 8m ; Eulalie, 9in ; Glonana, 10in; Iris, 12m. II and I Class.—To start at 2.35 p.m. Course: From starting line between flagship and mark moored south, then to Resolution on port, thenco to White Light on starboard, thenco to Resolution on starboard, finishing a-t starting line. Starloch, scr; Starlight, £m; Omatcre, 3m ■ Spray, 4m ; Why Not. 10m. V Class.—To start at 2.40 p.m. Course: Same as Hewson Cup race. Wild Wave, Ranui. scr.; Scud, 3m. S Class.—To start at 2.40 p.m. Course: Same as Hewson Cup. Mistral, scr.; Sceptre. Aratu, 6m; Sea Sleigh, 10m; Rnngitiki, Rangitira, 12m., T, Y, and Z Classes.—To start at 2.45 p.m. Lois, Opali, scr.; Rahiri 11., lm ; Fay, 2m; Ramona, 4m; Marie, 6in; 'Cupid, 7m ; Sea Rover, 9m; Oi, 15m ; Meo Too, 16m. Hewson Memorial Cup.—To start at, 2.50 p.m. Course; From starting lino between flagship and mark moored south, thenco to Rona buoy on port, thenco to Watchman mark on port, thence to Shoal Bay mark on starboard, thence to mark moored off Western tido deflector on starboard, twice round. Entries and skippers are;-—lron Duke, G. Seagei ; Rangi A O. Winstone; Joan, J. Hill; Avalon, D. Rogers. All crews are under 21 years. Lipton Cup.—To start at 3 p.m. For this raco the course will bo declared immediately prior to the start. All craft are requested to assemble just inside the boat harbour wall off St. Mary's, not later than 1.30 p.m., for ballast inspection and instructions ns to course.
