WIDOW AWARDED £IOOO.
DEATH OF HUSBAND.
CLAIM AGAINST EMPLOYERS.

The Arbitration Court to-day heard a claim for £IOOO, made by Mrs. Lilian Evaline Geange, of Feilding, against Richard Burne and John Neilson, contractors and builders, of Feilding. Plaintiff alleged that while going on a motor-cycle to defendant's workshop, in accordance with their orders, her husband was struck by a train engine and fatally injured, and that the accident arose in the course of hi 3 employment.
Defendants contended that the accident did not happen in the course of Geange'n employment. A non-suit, the point raised by the defence, was dismissed by the Court, which held that deceased wan employed immediately he left his house. Travelling to the factory was part of his work. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for the full amount and costs.
