MURDER CHARGE FAILS.
INQUEST ON THE VICTIM._
WOMAN'S ACT JUSTIFIED.
SYDNEY, April 9,
The inquest on John Pendergast, aged 23, who was found dying in the yard at the back of a shop at Surry Hills on March 27, was concluded to-day. Tho coroner found that the shooting of deceased by Mrs. Kathleen Barry, owner of tho shop, was justifiable. After the verdict Mrs. Barry, who had been charged with murder, was discharged.
Tho shooting of Pendergast occurred during a raid on Mrs. Barry's shop. After the police had found the man in a dying condition they arrested three other men on charges of breaking and entering.
