PRODUCTION AT STRAND. "The Love Parade." the pll-talking Paramount picture which is being screened for an extended season at the Strand Theatre, offers entertainment of a particularly high standard. Maurice Chevalier, who by his peculiar mannerisms, impressive acting and appealing singing voice won popularity with Anokland audiences in "The Innocents of Paris," 1 has the leading role. Chevalier in "The Love Parade" laurels tor convincing acting, the nonchalant and almost impudent manner in which he converses with Royalty making a universal appeal.

Miss .loanette MaePonald. a beautiful and accomplished actress, plays the leading tViv.inino role. The well-kiaovn vaudeville artists Miss Lillian l?oth and Lupine Lane are responsible for the gettuitio comedy in which the film abounds. Chevalier is cast as a young and daring otlicor attached to the embassy of a mythical kingdom, Chevalier's adventures it? Paris lead him into complications a'id lie i> recalled to his kingdom to report to the ipieen. Accompanied by his adiuiiing .servant. Chevalier returns and speedily wins the close, friendship of the queen. His servant. Lupino Lane, gains the love of the queen's maid. Lillian Roth, and the exploits of tlio two provide many humorous interludes. The play is rich in tuneful melodies, sonic of the most popular numbers being "The Love Parade." "Anything to Please the Queen," "My Dream Lover," "Paris, Stay the Same," "Let's Be Common and "Song of the Grenadiers." The lavish settings depicting the splendour oi (ho court are of outstanding interest. An overture, a scenic, a gazette and an alltalking comedy complete an attractive programme.
