EXPULSION FROM CLUB.
FRENCH WOMAN MOTORIST. APPEAL TO COURT FAILS. (Received March 27. 5.5 p.m.) PARIS. March 25. The Civil Court has dismissed the action brought by Madame Morris, who claimed reinstatement in the Feminine Sporting Federation. The Judge said that in his opinion, although she was entitled to dress and behave as she pleased as a private citizen, the Sporting Federation was. within its rights in contending that her eccentricities and the language she used might detrimentally affect girls and young women. A message from Paris a. month ago said Madame Violette Morris, a famous French motorist and an all-round athlete, was determined to fight to the last against her expulsion from the Feminine Sporting Federation because she insisted on wearing trousers on a sports ground. The hearing of her action was set down for February 26. She claimed £BOO damages. • Madame Morris has worn masculine attire for years, as she finds trousers more convenient when at her work as proprietor of a garage, and also when engaged in sports.
