DAVIS CUP CONTEST.
ALTERATION IN CONTROL. OPEN TOURNAMENTS BANNED. PARIS. March 21. The International Lawn Tennis Association, the delegates including representatives of Australia and New Zealand, refused to permit open tournaments between amateurs and professionals, which America had proposed.
It was also decided that it was unnecessary to change the rules prohibiting amateurs from receiving accessories free or at wholesale pricey. On France s proposal the organisation of the Davis Cup competition was transferred from the Davis Cup Committee to the International Federation.
